Oustaou Dou Pais- Country House

In the centre of the village of Tanneron is the Oustaou dou Païs. A place to discover our agricultural heritage and the mimosa.

The exhibitions tell the story of local agriculture, in which mimosa has played an exceptional role for over a century. THE EXHIBITION Its educational panels highlight the arrival of the mimosa in the Massif de Tanneron, France's largest largest mimosa forest in France AGRICULTURE AND TOOLS FROM THE PAST An exhibition of tools illustrates local farming activities, from market gardening to bee-keeping. Tools from the past, made available by local farmers, are on display. There are around sixty farmers in the municipality, most of them are producers of ornamental foliage, including eucalyptus and mimosa, not to mention beekeepers, market gardeners and olive growers. For generations, they have shaped the landscape of Tanneron. WORKSHOPS This site offers themed workshops on the mimosa in winter. These events offer a variety of ways to discover this flower: creative workshops, guided nature walks and hikes. Sports activities in the heart of the mimosa are also on offer. Other workshops are organised during the April school holidays (zone B) and on a few Fridays a month. The Maison de Pays includes a tourist information office and a shop selling local produce.
